The history of a global success

When 25-year-old Henry J. Heinz first decanted his fresh product into a transparent glass bottle in 1869, self-assuredly giving his customers insight into the quality of his work, he never dreamt that his name would one day go around the world. In 1876 he launched his Tomato Ketchup – made with a secret recipe consisting of just five ingredients. A success that went global. And that's not all: in the 1990s Heinz Tomato Ketchup was even approved by NASA for use at the international space station….

Still Heinz, but better

More than 60 products and 150 years after the brand was founded, the unmistakable Heinz taste has changed slightly. And Heinz’ plans for the future all the more so. In the space of the last ten years, the brand has set up a research and development centre in the Netherlands dedicated to the new requirements of our times and the associated consumer demands.
