No meat. No problem – a vegan success story

With such a long and successful history of making premium sausages behind it, there's no need to produce any more meat now. That’s something that’s reflected on the business side of things, too. For the first time in 2021, the company generated more revenue from sales of meat alternatives than it did with traditional meat products. Hardly surprising, given that all of its meat-free versions retain the same hearty flavour – just with less fat and saturated fatty acids than the traditional products.

Vegan innovation that extends to the ingredients

Rügenwalder Mühle has given a good account of itself on the sustainability front too: the company prioritises regionality across all of its ingredients, i.e. first and foremost, not buying soya from South America. Rügenwalder Mühle has actually been growing its own soya in Germany with its relevant contractual partners since May 2020. Mit etwas Deko

...definitiv ein guter Belag auf kräftigem Brot oder einem knusprigen Brötchen. Solo ist es mir geringfügig zu fad, ergänzt man es allerdings mit etwas Salz + Pfeffer oder Mettgewürz, sauren Gürkchen, Zwiebelwürfelchen oder etwas Senf, finde ich es richtig lecker!
