Indulgence with tradition
Not only does Niederegger have some downright timeless treats up its sleeve, but it also has a long history. Founded in 1806 by the master confectioner Johann Georg Niederegger, the crest of the brand still bears his initials to this day. The confectioner’s compositions supplied the Russian Tsar’s court in 1856, were awarded prizes at the 1873 World Exhibition in Vienna and were commissioned by the German Kaiser from 1908 onwards. The small Café Niederegger in the heart of the Hanseatic city is still the place to go for marzipan lovers from all over the world and has long been Lübeck’s secret landmark.
