There are two sides to everything, even the sweetest sweets. These crazy-sour chewy sweets from Skittles are testament to that. They turn the tables with a tangy twist on the Skittles original blend with sour strawberry, sour lime, sour lemon, sour orange and sour grape. One refreshing, fizzy mind-bender to go, please!

A long way

Yes, Skittles have come a long way. Perhaps not quite as far as the brand text, which is not entirely serious, claims. (According to which the Skittles story began “142 million” ago, when the great BOOM rainbow buried the planet and all its emo dinos under a layer of colourful sweets. Until, another 100 million years later, they were dug up by resourceful squirrels, wrapped up and stored in every supermarket they could find”...) But far enough.

Skittles were produced in the UK from 1974 onwards and then, subsequently, mainly in the USA. The colourful sweets became so popular there that international distribution began. Today, Skittles are available in around 180 countries. At first, they were only available in sweet vending machines. But from there, they made it into the ranges of various retail chains – all thanks to those hard-working squirrels!

But the rainbow doesn’t end here. Skittles has made it its mission to support the LGBTQ+ community in order to promote taste diversity and acceptance in every way. For Pride Month, the brand has introduced a special toll: for every SKITTLES Pride pack sold, the brand will donate one dollar to GLAAD to support their ongoing media efforts to combat discrimination against LGBTQ+ people.
